Stocks edged lower on the final trading session ofthe day amid thin trading activities…
Afteryesterday’s mild correction, the prime bourse, DSE traded lower amid thintrading activities throughout today’s session on the final trading day of theweek. The key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, DSEX, declined by 14.13 points, or0.26 per cent, to stand at 5475.74 points as the profit booking sentimentprevailed in almost all the major sectors.
Theturnover on the bourse declined to BDT 5,171.23 million compared to that of BDT5,673 million in the previous trading session. Among the major sectors, whichdeclined, Telecommunication lost 0.8 per cent, Bank 0.1 per cent, fuel & power0.4 per cent and NBFI 0.4 per cent. One of the major gaining sector is Food &Allied which advanced by 0.5%. Investors' activities were concentrated mostlyon textile which captured 21.70 per cent of the market turnover followed bypharmaceuticals & chemicals 18.10 per cent and fuel & power 15.10 percent.
